Bertie Disaster Relief Donation
Blanchard’s Grove MBC Friday, August 14, 2020 Many families in Bertie County, NC, were displaced and in need of essentials as a result of Hurricane Isaias. Blanchard’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church (BGMBC) donated clothes, food, monetary gifts and other essential items that were needed. The drive was led by BGMBC members Deacon Jeffery and Rita Tann. If anyone would like to contribute there are several organizations assisting in the area. Please feel free to go online to the Relief Fund website for Bertie and you will be given information on how you can help. We the members of Blanchard’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church along with our Apostle Dr. Lewis Fisher Jr, with Pastor Tonja Fisher, and the Covenant Churches were honored and blessed to have been a part of the Pastor’s Ordination Affirmation for Wanda Hall Carter of Greater Faith Non-Denominational Church. May the love of the Lord be with you always as you enter the service of God’s holy people. As it says in 1 Peter 5:2,4 Tend the flock of God that is in your charge… And when the Chief Shepherd appears you will win the crown of glory that never fades away.
Hebrews 11:11, Hebrews 12:2, Numbers 23:19 Apostle Dr. Lewis Fisher Jr began by saying, as we enter 2020 with a position in our hearts, that we are going to simply believe what God said, and believe He is able to perform what he has spoken. Our vision is not on people and things, but on Him and what He said. People and things will run out, but the word of God, it is forever settled. When there is a question as to whether God heard our cry, or can He do for us what He said, it is an assault upon His character. We must defend His character by declaring we believe He is faithful. God will fight for us. We must keep our focus on him and what he said. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?
Men change their minds, and therefore break their word; they lie, because they repent. But God does neither. He never changes His mind, and therefore never recalls His promise. We must come to a point where we know God is reliable, trustworthy and true to His word. John 1:1, John 1:14 Apostle Lewis Fisher Jr wanted us to celebrate the holiday in truth. Apostle showed two short videos. The first was about how God made the announcement of the birth of Christ to shepherds. The shepherds then left the field and came to the stable to witness what God had done. Once they did, they spread it abroad. If God has done anything for us, we need to go and tell that. We often find it easy to gossip and tell everything else, we are challenged to embrace what God has done in each of us and tell it. The second video was about the wise men. The video showed three wise men, however, the bible never mentions how many. It mentions three gifts they brought for the child. The video showed they traveled through the seasons. They did not let the seasons stop them from their mission. We are not to let the seasons of our lives stop us from pursuing Christ. We must keep going no matter what, because through each season our faith is being shaped for what God has called us to do. As believers, we must make sure we maintain the knowledge of truth as we celebrate. If we are asked why celebrate by decorating? We are to tell those that ask that God clothed himself in flesh and this is our way of expression. Celebrate truth! God will always endorse truth.
Blanchard’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church provided dinner for the Gates County Red Baron’s Football Team on Friday, September 27, 2019.
