The Knight's Park Vision....
I greet you all in the name of Jesus Christ our savior, and I pray you and your families are well. Since coming into the Hobbsville North Carolina area, it has always bothered me to see the lack of opportunity residents have to go to a place to relax, enjoy family, and engage in physical activity.
One day as I was riding through the area, the Lord showed me in a vision a park that would address the need of the people, young and old. I knew it was my task to launch this effort that would impact community residents and beyond. I followed the prompting of the Lord, and with the support of Blanchard’s Grove church, approximately 11 acres of land was purchased. The Lord blessed us to purchase the land without a debt. The vision is a step closer to coming into fruition.
I have worked with Parrish Point engineering firm to design the park as it was revealed to me. The park will be completed in 3 phases. Phase-I (Master Plan), this consist of crafting the overall design, that is, complete the end from the beginning of what the park will look like. Phase-II (Preliminary Engineering), this consists of site and county visits to ensure land is surveyed properly, soil tests are completed, final drawing design and approval, and health concerns are addressed. Phase III- (Actual land clearing, park construction). We have completed Phase-I, and are in Phase-II. We anticipate moving into Phase-III by the end of December barring any unforeseen setback.
Once complete, and we are targeting sometime during the spring of 2015, residents, visitors to the area, and local church families, and local governments, will be able to enjoy the benefits of the park. The park will have an outdoor physical exercise area, kids play island with multiple play stations for children to enjoy, tennis and basketball courts, pavilions for cookouts, a memorial for a time of reflection and peace, and a track that encircles the entire park area for a nice healthy run or walk, and an open area for a place just to lie down on the ground and relax, or perhaps to even fly a kite and throw a Frisbee or Football.
My desire is to complete the park debt free. Please pray for us as we continue this great work. Your contributions will go a long way to help us achieve our goal in providing this gift to the community.
Thank you.
