Pastor Tonja Y. Fisher
Mrs. Tonja Y. Fisher is a motivational woman of God who is truly a servant leader, and who leads with humility. She has faithfully and diligently served alongside her husband, Dr. Lewis Fisher, Jr., as an Assistant Pastor. She draws on her experiences, and her loving, no nonsense approach to reach and challenge her audiences to know the Lord as she works to complement her husband’s ministry.
A native of Portsmouth, Virginia, Pastor Fisher graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in 1988 with honors. She received a Civil Engineering/Minor in Computer Science Degree from North Carolina A & T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. Pursuing a Profession in Civil Engineering, Mrs. Fisher worked for the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation and Parson & Brinckerhoff, an Engineering Consultant Firm in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2013, Mrs. Fisher graduated with a Master’s Degree in Theology at the Master’s International School of Divinity, located in Evansville, Indiana.”

In her role as the Director of Women’s Ministries, Mrs. Fisher’s heart and compassion for women is seen every day as she reaches out and embraces women from all walks of life. She communicates to her audience a message of purity and holiness before God. She encourages women to be grounded in their own relationship with the Lord to be in a better position to serve alongside their husbands and to effectively balance this with meeting the needs of family. Mrs. Fisher is driven to prepare the younger generation of women, to ensure they be equipped with character and virtue. Her contributions are vital to the success of the Lewis Fisher Jr, Ministry vision of “Making Ready A People.”
She is the Vice-President of the Fisher Empowerment Center, Inc., also located in Hobbsville, North Carolina. She oversees the daily operation of the center, ensuring the needs of the residents are adequately addressed. She is highly skilled in grant administration and grant writing. She makes her expertise in math and science available to the public schools in Suffolk VA.
A loving wife and mother, Mrs. Fisher and Dr. Lewis Fisher Jr., have four children, Arianna, Paul, Sariah and Deborah. They reside in Suffolk, Virginia.
