Apostle Lewis Fisher Jr shows us the “Point of Emphasis”:

Man might have been able to say, God doesn’t understand the pressure of the temptation I face everyday; but God knows every trial we face.

We sometimes say: "It’s alright to have a little fun, after all, living a Christian life is so boring."  Or "Nobody is right or good all the time.  I’m not going to bible study or prayer tonight.  I am going to enjoy myself by resting and watching a movie.  I’ll tell Pastor I can’t make it."  Or even "I’ll never make it.  Maybe it’s just not meant for me."

All of these statements might have been alright if God did not wrap himself in flesh.
In other words, God became human and felt everything we feel today.  He can relate to each one of these statements.
Scriptures: John1:1, John 4:14, Hebrews 4:15-16, Matthew 26:38

Apostle Fisher pointed out the “Point of Emphasis” in this scripture was “Watch With Me.”  Having gone through sorrowful times in his flesh and wanting someone to watch with him.

He understands and can now offer sympathy to those suffering.  We need someone sometimes just to be able to talk to or just comfort us during difficult times.  When Jesus was sorrowful, He didn’t want someone to talk about how sorrowful He was, He wanted someone praying with him.  We also need someone praying with us.  We don’t need someone to intensify our sorrow but someone who can pray with us and give us a word from the Lord.

God, The First Option - Part 2

1 Kings 17:1-17, Luke 4:25-26
Apostle Lewis Fisher Jr continued our message of “God, The First Option” Part 2.  As he began, he wanted us to take notice that Elijah just came on the scene.  Everything that was going on in scripture he just shows up.  His linage can’t be traced back.  He hears what’s going on and has a message for the king.  The bible tells us that God often shows up without our knowledge that it was him.  Elijah was a type of Christ that just decided to show up.  He said it would not rain unless he says so.

That means no dew or rain.  God created the drought by his words and yet told Elijah to hide himself.  He told him to dwell by the brook Cherith and drink the water and the raven brought him food.  It was dry for three and a half years.  God took the nasties thing and the meanness thing to supply Elijah every need.  The raven feed Elijah for one year.  If God be God, stand still and watch God supply your need.  God is our source and sometimes we must be pulled away.  If you depend on God, no matter what vehicle he uses he is our source.  God is sovereign and once your heart is turned to him the supply line will keep coming.  What if you lose your job today?  It has never been your source.  There is no job that can ever supply your need.  Every struggle we go through is for our good.  God is our source and he will supply our needs.  God wants to be our first option in everything.
