Beware of False Prophecy - Part 1

5/29/2019

Apostle Lewis Fisher, Jr opened with the topic “Beware of False Prophecy”.   Apostle made it plain by saying false prophecy is somebody telling you something God didn’t say.  God said he has already said everything he is going to say and sealed it in the book.  Beware of those who speak what is not written.

God is going to speak what He has already spoken.  Apostle asked, “Why did Jeremiah have to send a letter to those that were in Babylon?”  The answer, because Hananiah spoke falsely to the people, telling them that the king of Babylon’s yoke upon them would be broken in two years. When in fact, God had already spoken about them remaining there for 70 years.

Many people will try to speak into your hearing and prophesy about what God said, try every spirit by the spirit to see if it aligns with God’s word.    Many people are going through different things in life, and are anxious, making themselves prey to hear anything, because they are hoping on the wrong things.

As it was in their day, even so it is in our day. We are going through circumstances and situations, but God won’t bring us out until we have learned what we need to learn. This prophet told them not to believe what Jeremiah said.  They had the assurance that God would bring them out but not until the time he had set.  When we want relief from what we are going through, often, we will believe a lie, just like the people believed the lie of Hananiah.  Keep in mind, when we make decisions and plans based upon a lie, then everything that is birthed from that lie is false. We must know, just like Jeremiah, that we are anchored in what God has spoken, and don’t allow anyone to add to that truth.

Meet The Bridegroom

Apostle Lewis Fisher Jr began by asking us to really listen and digest the meaning of the song “The Master’s Calling.”  God is calling and we have become dull of hearing. Being dull of hearing is not something that took place over night, it happened over time as one continues to reject the truth of God’s word.  As in the song, listen while we still can hear the Master Calling.

As indicated by the scriptures there were ten virgins, five wise and  five foolish. They all had the same desire to meet the bridegroom. They all launched to meet him.  They understood that the bridegroom was coming. Each one had good intent, but the difference was found in their preparation.  Apostle asked the question, “How many are committed to the journey of meeting the bridegroom? We can launch, but not be fully prepared for the journey.  When you are committed, it shows up in your preparation.

All denominations are set out to meet him. How many have set out like the five foolish, without forethought?  They set out without oil (word). Only the word can sustain us on this journey. The bible says, what man decides to build a house without counting the cost.  Apostle asked, “Did we truly count the cost when we said I do Lord?” If we have counted the cost, it would show up in your preparation. The preparation tells everything about the level of commitment one has.  If you set out on this journey, the bridegroom is coming, and there is nothing we can do to stop his coming.

Apostle asked, “How many of us prepared this morning?  How many took time to pray and listen for what God had to say?  Apostle asked, “Can we last through the night if the bridegroom tarries? If he does not come today or tonight, have we prepared to endure the delay.”  Let us truly count the cost of what it means to be saved, and maintain our grip on the word of the Lord.

Heart Worship

May 12, 2019

Apostle Dr. Lewis Fisher Jr. elaborated on the story of Noah.  After Noah, his family and animals had gotten out of the ark, the first thing he did was build God an altar.  He built the altar to give God praise and worship because he kept them alive. God made a promise that he would never again curse the ground for man’s sake.

So every time a rainbow appears in the sky, the Lord is reminded of His promise. Apostle asked the question, “Did we build an altar of praise and worship to God this morning?  Did we thank him for waking us up this morning, and our children waking up with us? It will cost each of us to give the Lord what he wants. It took time to build the altar of stones not made with man’s hands. Noah couldn’t build anything and offer it to God.  So we must learn to build an altar acceptable to God. In good times, build an altar of praise, and when we are in a valley, we must build God an altar of praise. When we learn to build an altar the right way and offer up something good, God starts talking to himself about us.  We want God to talk to himself about us. Let’s start building an altar of praise and worship to our God!
