Making A Difference

3/25/2020

Apostle Lewis Fisher Jr. spoke to the Church, on the title called, “Making A Difference”.
God always makes a declaration in the ears of the enemy.  Whenever there is a threat to his people God will raise up a generation that will have a word in their mouth that says, “Let my people go.”  We must stand and speak to the enemy, that is, the coronavirus (COVID-19) and say, “Let my people go.”
In Exodus, Chapter 8, verse 21, God sent a swarm of flies.  These were not ordinary flies, these flies were sent to torment.  God was sharing with Pharaoh that he was serious about letting his people go.  In verse 22, God said, I will sever (separate, make a difference) in that day. Apostle asked the question, “What day is that?  It is the day the flies were to appear, and I will separate them from my people. In the land of Goshen there will be no flies among my people.  If God has spoken over your life not one will come near you. Even the flies obeyed God and did not go into Goshen.
God says if we do what we are supposed to do not one will come where we dwell.  We must encourage our brothers and sisters because he is making a difference between his people and the world.  If there is no difference, then the world has no hope. If that is the case, God can’t get any glory.
The coronavirus did not take God by surprise.  That’s why his son Jesus died on the cross for us.  He knew that one day man would unleash something in 2020 that could harm the entire population.
God wants some glory out of our lives.  It doesn’t make any difference where you are in your life, give God the glory.  God has the power to save. If we say we are going to trust him, then trust God.  God understands when we are afraid. But he tells us to fear not, because I am with thee.  He will calm our spirit because he understands that flesh gets weary at times.
God is with us, so stand strong in faith and wait on his salvation.

Grace - Unearned Favor

Scriptures - 2 Timothy 1:9-10

Apostle Lewis Fisher Jr. spoke to the Church, on the title called, “Grace – Unearned Favor”.

As cities around us are being shut down around the world we are still saying, “Lord, you are holy”.  The favor of God can’t be matched by anything that man can comprehend and put in his own words.

To help guide us, the Apostle took us into a reading from 2 Timothy 1: 9-10. This scripture tells us that grace was given long before the world was ever formed.  It manifested through Jesus. He gave it to us long before the world ever stood.

Apostle gave us this example of a man in prison on death row.  He has no hope of ever being free or having an appeal or being released.  He heard the guards coming and they opened the prison doors and told the man he was free to go.  He ran out the prison and didn’t look back. You are free to go. He does not analyze it , or question it. He just takes off and runs out the prison.
BGMBC-March 8
He was given grace.  We still try to analyze grace.  Stop trying to analyze grace and run out.  Grace says, just run out. If he took time to heal us, or take us out of an abusive situation, don’t ask why, just run out.  We were given Grace.

The prisoner represented the church that was bound, and on death row.

We were born into iniquity and had no hope of being paroled.  Then grace showed up and said that the Spirit of the Lord is upon him.  He has anointed him to preach the gospel to the poor and to set at liberty them that are bruised and to release the captive.

God has set us free by Grace. It doesn’t matter how far we have fallen; God has extended his Grace to all of us.  If you’d like to receive a FREE CD for additional spiritual guidance please follow this link to make your request.

The Conscience of a Nation

Scripture: Romans 13: 1-7, Matthews 5: 13-16

Apostle Lewis Fisher Jr. spoke on the responsibility of the Church, according to the Word of the Lord as the “The Conscience of a Nation”.

God has shown the Church the role that our nation is supposed to conduct according to the Holy Bible.  Apostle Fisher told us; when we see what we may perceive as negative or unGodly political practices, then we as the Church have the Word to guide us in the right way.  We are to  “Look to the Word of the Lord”.

When we, members of the Church, complain and blame the political offices for actions and laws contrary to the Word of God, it is we the Church, with a responsibility to be a voice of conscience for those who hold offices, starting in our communities on the local level, and going all the way to the Office of the President of the United States.

ATo help guide us, the Apostle took us into a reading from Romans 13:1-7. This scripture tells us we must understand the role of government, and we must trust in God’s role as the ruler of our nation.  We must understand, according to the scriptures, the role of the Church and the government structure has been ordained by God himself.  We must believe God never ordains evil.  We must strive to be “The Conscience of the Nation” and share the Word, for there is no authority except from God; and those that exist do so by God’s appointment.

The role of the government is to serve the common good by protecting justice and peace, and rewarding good behavior and restraining bad behavior.  When the true role of the government is not adhered to because of political leadership, then It is the Church who must stand up and become the conscious for the offices of the State that God has ordained.

The Apostle reminded us of a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:  “The Church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the State, but rather the conscience of the State. It must be the guide and the critic of the State, and never its tool. If the Church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority.”

Apostle Fisher asked us to be holy and real for God.  If you’d like to receive a FREE CD for additional spiritual guidance please follow this link to make your request.
