Apostle Lewis Fisher Jr began by reminding us about Moses. God said I am going to deliver my people by forgiving them. The old testament pattern was no man could come into God’s presence without things being right. We are speaking about the holy of holies. Today the Mercy Seat continues and that Mercy Seat is Jesus. God deals with us from the premise of mercy. We are important to the plan and purpose of God. No one can make a decision for us to walk with God. We need to prepare ourselves because we don’t know the day or hour. We thank the Lord for forgiving us. Deliverance is through forgiving.
Moses was a man that had everything in his life. Here in this message, Moses was doing a job that he was taught to hate. God is going to do something in our lives to drive us to the very thing you hate. Moses, as an Egyptian prince was taught to detest shepherds. God led Moses through the wilderness of Sinai. We can”’ serve God with a silver spoon attitude. He will leave us in the wilderness longer than we should be. He took Moses out of the plush life and said now I want him. God had Moses to become a shepherd to learn about the very people he had to lead. Moses was 80 years old and still working. Moses was taken from the light of prosperity where everyone knew him to a job in obscurity. There was no fame in this job. God was humbling Moses. If it took 40 years for God to humble Moses, how long do you think it will take us to become humble. Wherever the spirit of the Lord is it is holy. Your house is not holy because you put a cross in it or any other symbol. It is holy because the spirit of the Lord takes his residence there. On holy ground you have to conduct yourself different because the Lord is holy. Apostle asked, “How many of you want God to reside in your house?”
